DOMESTIC workers are the unsung heroines in most homes around South Africa. They are the housekeepers, they take care of basic maintenance in the home, they cook, they are child minders, some do the gardening - and they generally play an integral part in making sure that everything runs smoothly – and amicably - in the home.
Hirsch’s is acknowledging these unsung heroines of the home by holding a Domestic Worker of the Month competition in every area in which they operate in South Africa.
The monthly winners will each receive a Hirsch voucher, hamper from Unilever and Hirsch’s and a certificate , and their names will go forward for the title of Domestic Worker of the Year, with a prize of R5000 and a bed and base set.
Commenting on the reason behind holding this competition, COO Margaret Hirsch said: “I think as working women we start to rely on our domestic workers more and more, and with a little bit of training they can upskill themselves. That’s the object of the exercise - to help them thrive and grow as individuals.
If you would like to nominate your domestic worker for the monthly competition, call in at your nearest Hirsch's Branch and pick up an entry form.
