Hirsch Meadowdale recently hosted their monthly Business Networking Morning with a large group of driven local business people ready to learn more about creating a stress free business environment.
Guest speaker for the morning was Silke Kaiser, an Independent Consumer Services Professional.
Silke’s topic for the morning was; Creating a stress free business environment by employing the right people. “One of the keys to achieving business success is by hiring the right people who can make or break any profit-making enterprise, as they are the foundation upon which a company’s profitability depends.” She said.
It only takes one bad apple to spoil the bunch, so much so that a single bad hire could potentially ruin the whole team’s motivation. This will negatively affect productivity, and ultimately, impact the bottom line.
Silke listed 5 ways to improve your recruitment efforts;
1. Maintain a good reputation as an employer.
2. Use a structured interview process.
3. Be proactive with your recruitment efforts.
4. Seek employees who will fit into the company culture.
5. Attitude is more important than technical skills.
After the talk, an opportunity was given for each of the attendees to give a one minute marketing presentation of their business.
