As the end of 2012 as fast approaching, Hirsch's Umhlanga hosted a festive season cook along for the pensioners of TAFTA.
Said Hirsch’s Umhlanga PRO, Warren Pearce “The festive season brings with it not only the spirit of giving, but also a strong sense of togetherness across the world for all families that celebrate this holiday. This was the motivation behind the event, and the senior citizens were treated to a pastry demonstration for home-made mince pies and red velvet cookies, that can be used as decorations on the Christmas tree. Each person was encouraged to don an apron and join in on the cooking fun. Some made their own mince pies, while others showed off their creative talents by decorating cookies that they took home to use on their own Christmas trees this year.”
"It was a very exciting morning and reminded me of when I used to prepare for Christmas with my Mum when I was a little girl.. I look forward to passing the same precious memories on to my children and grand children" said Diana Louw, TAFTA resident, and grandmother of two.
Hirsch's Umhlanga hosts a free cooking demonstration for pensioners every month. For more information, contact Warren on 031 570 4000 / warren@hirschs.co.za
