On Saturday a “Sewing for Kids” project kicked into full gear at Bedroom Boutique in Milnerton. Said the Boutiques PRO Nardo van Eck “Ladies from the local community gathered over breakfast to help raise money for charity. The Sewing for Kids project is aimed at supplying less fortunate children with a full kit of clothing consisting of a warm jacket, jeans, fleece tops, vests, t-shirts, a warm dress with tights, underwear, socks, shoes and a track suit, all manufactured by Danolene Johanessen, founder of the Project.” Danolene explained :“I have approached companies such as PEP to help supply children with school clothes in the months to come. By supplying them with a full kit of clothes they will be armed to take on the world, for they are the kings and queens of tomorrow.” Herbal Life, Honey Jewellery, SH’ZEN and Katz Hair joined hands with Danolene and Bedroom Boutique, and all proceeds went towards the project. “It’s great to see how the community come together in these tough times. It is selfless acts like these that in time will make the world a better place.” said Nardo.
