PROTECTING YOUR CHILDREN ON THE INTERNET – TALK AT BB NETWORKING.
Bedroom Boutique recently hosted Woman’s Networking Breakfast at their Milnerton branch in Cape Town with Afsana Khan, CEO and Founder of Endor Media, who spoke about Facebook and privacy settings to protect children.
Afsana spoke about the pitfalls of Facebook privacy and gave tips on how to avoid them. Said Afsana “You can control who has access to information on your Facebook page by making use of lists. This option will allow you to set access limitations to all your contacts.” She expressed the importance of thinking before posting, as posts could come back to haunt you in the future. “Many companies use Facebook as a background check when applying for a new job” warned Afsana. When it comes to protecting your children, educate them on Facebook – “This does not mean stalk them”, joked Afsana, as this will be an invasion of their privacy. There is a thin line which should not be crossed.
These networking functions are held on the second Wednesday of every month, and are open to all ladies - including business women wanting to promote their businesses through networking.
