My aim is to write a weekly article on property maintenance how to identify, prevent, and treat the issue at hand.
One must understand under no circumstances are we re-writing the product specifications, this article and all articles following’s pure purpose are to put you the reader into a maintenance orientated mindset when it comes to your property and the maintenance thereof.
Always adhere to the specific product specification on preparation, usage and or application and follow-up life cycle (recoating).
Even if you are using a contractor it is always a good practice to know as much as possible sa you can on the preparation, application and product that you are going to use.
For example: If I’m a contractor that is going to paint the exterior of a clients house and if that client did a good bit of research on preparation, application differences, various types of paints, the subconscious message you as the client is giving out is “I will not accept second rate work, I will not accept what you the contractor is saying is law†Immediately the contractor without knowing it is on his toes and he will step up his quality and even a nice pep talk with his paint team to make sure they do not make any mistakes. This is not rocket science but human nature, in the fast moving world we live in we often rely on that everybody’s perception on finished quality and service are what we expect to be and are often disappointed.
There are such a vast array of methods and product on the market one sometimes feels lost as breeze in thunderstorm. The right product, right application, right interval will always give you the correct end result. Not all of us is practical and can do repairs. The internet is such a vast source of information if one needs to know exactly how to do it you will find it. The fast moving world we are in forces us to rely on one another. I would think more important you the property owner or investor should definitely know what the consequences are if one does not adhere to preventative maintenance on a property. Believe me if I say it can be very costly
The next article would be about a subject that can be the root cause on up to 80% of all property maintenance issues “MOISTUREâ€
