The Sewing for Seeds Project is a local community project aimed at supplying less fortunate children with warm clothes during the cold winter months. Danolene Johanessen, organiser of the project, will supply children in need with a warm jacket, jeans, fleece tops, vests, t-shirts, a warm dress with tights, underwear, socks, shoes and a track suit. A full winter kit comes to R500.00. “We are making a request to you, the public, to support us in this endeavour as we serve the children of Cape Town and bring them some relief during the winter months” said Danolene.
Through the project Danolene will also be creating jobs for woman in the community by employing them to make the kits, and therefore empowering them to take care of their families. Said Danolene “I would really like to make a difference in peoples lives. I love making children’s clothes and I also love seeing people happy.” Hirsch’s Milnerton is helping Danolene raise funds by hosting a Pamper Party at their new store in Milnerton. All ladies from the community are invited to join a morning of Pampering with Danolene, Sh’Zen and Hirsch’s. Breakfast will cost R100.00. All proceeds will go towards the Sewing for Seeds Project.
